As part of the national rebuilding strategy following the drastic January 2010 Earthquake, the impacts from this natural disaster have taken eff­ect on Haitian landmarks to include Notre Dame de L’Assomption Cathedral. This proposal seeks a design strategy to restore, rebuild and re-establish the national order of Catholicism to reinstitute Faith, Spirit and Memory to Haitian individuals within the island. In Port au Prince the New Notre Dame de L’Assomption Cathedral will have a strong perseverance in Haiti’s economic recovery for the present and future. One must make a strong emphasis that the local Haitians take part of the building process which will attribute towards spiritual and cultural awareness.

Historically, the original cathedral took such pride in engaging the community to be part of grandeur project and this proposal makes use of such gesture. Overall the New Notre Dame de L’Assomption Cathedral will have long term implementation as it redefinesthe Port au Prince skyline and reinstitutes Faith, Spirit and Memory to the Haitians residing locally and internationally.
